Top 8 tips for playing Meqanic
Cause, gosh darn it, you are good enough, smart enough, and likable enough to play Meqanic!
Meqanic is not supposed to be an easy game. But you can’t think of it as a hard game either. These tips might help…
1) Each block makes sense. Nothing is random in Meqanic, although it might seem that way at first (and that’s OK). We’ve labeled the blocks that way for a reason, trust us.
2) There may be more blocks available, make sure to scroll! The toolbox in the bottom left of the screen contains all the blocks needed to beat a given level (and usually more). But they may not all fit, so this is a scrollable area – keep scrolling to find a block you may need. Players often get stuck early in a collection because they don’t realize that there are more blocks available.
3) Don’t over-think how the blocks work too soon. Play fast and loose. At first, rely on luck and try different block arrangements randomly. If you play enough, you sould develop intuition as you go.
4) If you get frustrated with a level, just skip it!!! (click [Next >]) That’s OK and expected! You can always come back and beat it later. The game was designed so that you can easily skip levels.
5) Solve all the easier levels first. You will build intuition that way and make total progress faster. Skipping levels doesn’t hurt you in terms of your leaderboard ranking. The levels are not necessarily arranged from easiest to hardest.
6) Know when to use T. If a target pattern has colors that are shades of red or blue (not solid red or blue), there’s a good chance you will need to use one or more T-blocks.
7) Read the How to Play boards and the comments after select levels.
8) Some levels are repeats. A lot of people mention this. Yes we know, we made them that way. Since you’ve done them before, they should be easy, right? Seriously, you will need the practice to handle the really difficult levels that are coming. (That’s also why there are so many levels per collection.) But maybe in the new collections that are coming we won’t do repeats, what do you think?
9) Keep playing!
